Late 70's full-size Ford Bronco (V8) with Chevy K5 full-size Blazer a close 2nd.
Not a late 70's model (it's a 96 Eddy Bauer package) but the last one I owned back around 2015. Low milage and cleaner than a hound's tooth. I never should have sold it!

Mine was a '85 Jeep CJ-7, 6cyl, 5 speed, bought new by me while living in So. Calif.
Only motors available then was a 4 cyl or the 6. Mine came with hard top & hard doors, rather than soft top & doors. It was both the worst vehicle I've owned & at times I still loved it. Poor gas mileage, bone jarring ride, not even a lot of power ( plenty of torque.) Kept if for 13 yrs., body rusting despite undercoated, leaky plastic valve cover caused oil to drip on the exhaust manifold..resulting in a fire that blistered paint on the hood, a few yrs after I'd had a nice (& expensive) re-paint job done. Removing the top & doors on a warm (not hot) day, & it was a great ride..

1990 F150 Lariot XLT I keep for hunting, my all time favorite, carburated straight six installed and all mechanical 4x4 operation, I just installed a front end truetrac planetery gear differential, makes it very easy to get in and out of those unplowed state land offroad parking spots and 2 tracks.
The rumors online in case anyone is considering this upgrade about it being "invisible on icy roads" is complete BS
Its only for deep snow unplowed roads or offroad, it would get you killed on icy roads over 35MPH
Hoping to get a selectable rear locker in there in the next few years for the full effect.

I bought a new '85 CJ-7 while living in San Diego. It was my favorite ( & only) 4X4.
Brought it to Mi. in '87 & kept it until '98 My favorite, was both a worst (4 wheeled) vehicle I've owned,
& as times, my most fun 4 wheeled vehicle.
Strange, I couldn't find a CJ-7 in So .Calif. that came with a/c ( ! )
It did have a hard top & hard doors, both removable.
When used off-road , (esp. while in Calif) I'd have the top & doors removed.
Off-road, It almost as fun as riding an off-road m/c, but I could take wife & 2 sons along for the ride.
When purchasing my CJ -7 I had a choice of a 4 cyl or a 6, ( no v-8) mine was a 6, w/ a 5 peed man. trans.
For the engine size, it didn't have a lot of power, but had tons of torque.
Go poor mileage,( imo) had stiff suspension, even after switching to gas charged shocks, not a smooth ride.
It also had a plastic valve cover that over time, warped, ..causing oil to leak onto the exhaust manifold,
resulting in a fire that blistered the paint on my just repainted hood .
It had just had a complete cosmetic make-over, & looked better-than-new..before the fire.
Bought an aftermarket alunimum valve cover, and shortly thereafter, I gave my Jeep to a friend that really wanted it,
I was thru with it, after purchasing a new '98 F-150

Looks a lot like mine..which was painted a color they called " Burnt Orange Bronze Metallic".. it glowed in the sunshine.
I added polished SS door & hood hinges, mirrors, & Centerline-style ( solid aluminum) rims. It looked sharp, IMO..

Thanks. I've had 3 full size broncos over the years ranging from the early to mid 90's. Best 4x4's ever. I could kick myself now for selling every one of them!
