Torn between 92 series and P226

Both are easy to field strip/maintain. Both are great SA Pistols. You can go wrong with either one so get whichever one you like and/or feels the most comfortable to you.

I agree that both are easy to maintain, the Taurus 92 /99 ( Brazilian Beretta ) is as well, though both the Sig P-226 & the Beretta 92 (& it's clones) are dbl action / single action pistols. At least, mine are. ;) Shot my Sig last night..

Friend don't let friends buy anything Taurus..... LOL

Just to clarify, when I said, "Both are great SA pistols", the SA was meant to mean 'Semi-Auto', not 'Single-Action'.

.." Friend don't let friends buy anything Taurus..." I know a lot of people believe that..maybe based on bad experience.
My expedience was quite different. One of my first ( if not the 1st) S/A (semi auto) pistols I purchased was a Taurus 92..
This was in early-mid 80's. It worked so well I bought a Taurus 58 , another copy of a Beretta semi auto, in .380 cal.
Had both for many yrs., used them with no issues. Bought a few Taurus revolvers, a 85( a short barrel 38) a 66 ( 4" 357) , and a 441 (44 Spec)
all worked fine, though the revolvers were sold after yrs. of use ( w/o issues) and replaced by S&W models, as they have better ( more to my liking) triggers.

Nothing at all wrong with any of the Taurus handguns I've bought, thought all were purchased before '95
Maybe the older guns had better quality ? For a company to remain in business they must make some satisfactory products.
It's sad that a company's reputation can be tarnished by issues. Same could be said about Kimber, as well as Palmetto State Armory products..
sell a lot of firearms & there will be issues. My gunsmith showed me a barrel from a customer's new Colt 1911 ) few yrs.ago) he complained accuracy was poor. Examining the barrel..it had no rifling ! How'd that pass their inspection ?
