I didn't either but when the bedrooms opened up, I decided I wanted a dedicated reloading room with a full bench on all the walls and a powder/primer cabinet on one end. Didn't want to run from place to place to get equipment. Guns I can pull from the two safes easily regardless where they are. Super roomy at one point but getting pretty full now.I don't have a 'Gun Room', per se'. I have a vertical safe in my living room and another vertical safe in a closet where I also store gun cases, cleaning supplies, ammo, etc. And a few handguns and long guns strategically secreted throughout the house for quick/easy access should the need for their immediate use arise. I do wish I had a basement instead of a crawl space, though. I would most likely have a designated gun room there if I did.

Between my wife and my daughter, I'm lucky to get what little space I have now!I didn't either but when the bedrooms opened up, I decided I wanted a dedicated reloading room with a full bench on all the walls and a powder/primer cabinet on one end. The room is secure. I won't go into detail but my insurance company is satisfied; you'd either need to be able to break 256 bit encryption or a pound of Semtex to get in. Getting out will be just as hard - there's only one way and by then the gendarmes will be on site. You may have noticed it's (almost) all black powder; shooting supplies are elsewhere. Cabinets are all second hand from the wife's garage and estate sale wanderings, thus inexpensive; just takes patience.Very nice gun room, beautiful cabinets. No concerns about theft ?
I have one glass cabinet, displays my bolt action rifles. The bolts are all removed & locked away in another area.
Not much good stealing a bolt action rifle w/o the bolt..
I've bought Rem 700 magnum bolts for a couple of my rifles. Built some switch barrel rifles and needed the Magnum bolt body/face. Pretty easy to find in classifieds in hunting and shooting forums. If someone gets my $$hitt without getting shot, they deserve it.Very nice gun room, beautiful cabinets. No concerns about theft ?
