Noob from the farthest south in Michigan you can get๐Ÿ˜. Hunting fishing, gunsmithing and shooting are my addictions. Helps keep me distracted from media and politics. Been around long enough to know nothing really changes in the political arena other than to divide and distract๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ‘Š. Good luck to all hunting and fishing this year!!

Use to shoot the varmint biathlon competition at Washtenaw sportsmanโ€™s club back in the late 90โ€™s. Great rifle range. Had a blast shooting with 22 CHeetah and 6-284. Great bunch of guys back then๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ‘Š

Not many guys I know had a Cheetah. Long before the fast twist .22 caliber wild cats came out. Enjoyed mine but eventually jumped on the fast twist wagon with a 22-284 and currently a 22-250 AI. Next one I guess will be a 22 Creedmoor. Simplicity in buying brass and loading will be welcome this time around.

Yup. My cheetah and 6-284 were tight necks. Still have the 6-284 but its accuracy has dropped off. Itโ€™s at 880 rds yet will still shoot 3/4โ€ groups. I was wanting to re barrel to standard neck 6-284 but Lapua 6.5-284 brass has been non existent lately. Thought about the 6 CM just for ease of reloading. Iโ€™m over the brass forming, neck turning fire form crap anymore ๐Ÿ˜. Powder, primers, bullets and barrels are too damn expensive anymore๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ‘Š

With the AI cartridges, trimming has become almost non-existent. Fireforming I agree, I'm over that as well. All my 284 brass is formed but once its wore out, its looking like I'll probably settle on the 22 Creed. As much as it goes against the grain for me to settle on a standard OTC round, it really is the easy button.
