Question, if your workplace has a rule against bringing in stuff, like a weapon, do you really have to follow that? It's worth thinking about how those rules work and what happens if you don’t stick to them.

Yeah. My workplace has a no reasons policy, that thanks to the t.c. incident now includes pocket knives.
And yes our company will fire you.
That being said... what they don't know don't hurt them

It’s really important to know what the laws are in your state and what your employer expects from you. If you’re a bit lost about it all, don’t hesitate to talk with someone in HR or your manager. It’s always better to get clarity than to risk running into trouble later on.
