Thanks, Mods, for adding a Rimfire section!

This should get a lot of interest since just about every red-blooded kid has had (or wanted) a rimfire rifle (usually a .22 Short, Long, Long Rifle) at one time or another in their life.

So many styles, models, and manufactures to choose from. The choice is almost endless, as is the ammunition.

As I have gotten older, I find myself reverting back to my childhood days and shooting my rimfires way more than any other firearms that I own. And guess what, I think I have even have more fun today shooting them than I did when I was a kid.

Without getting into all of the rimfire rifles that I've owned over the years, I'll just start off with my latest build, a KIDD 10-22. Set in a KRG BRAVO Stock and topped off with a MeOpta Optika 5 4x-20x 42mm SF SFP scope. It's a great shooter!

Glad to hear you're enjoying the new section! Rimfire really does have a way of connecting people to their roots. That KIDD build sounds awesome, and the KRG Bravo is definitely a great pick. How's the MeOpta working out for you? What kind of groups are you getting with it?

I'm a big rimfire fan too, here's one of my fav 22 rifles that I have,

I had Melvin Forbes built it, and he built it exactly the way I wanted, he builds the actions and pretty much everything but the bbls, and triggers. Mine has a Douglas premium bbl. and a Jewel trigger,

I have not shot it on paper other than to sight it in, but I have shot some small game for the table with it, and I also eliminated some pest that were in my gardens.

Too bad Melvin passed away, he was a master rifle builder!

MeOpta makes some great optics. You can't beat them for the price and the quality you get. Great glass, smooth operating controls, windage/elevation controls are precise and track perfectly. If you're in the market for a great scope that won't break the bank these are definitely worth giving a try.

As far as groups go, with a variety of decent target grade ammo it's very acceptable as far as I'm concerned. A pic is worth a thousand words..... 😁

That's a beauty, SR! Nice selection of parts, too.

I really enjoy a nice 22.

Here's my Belgium Browning T-bolt,

I haven't shot it in a while; I need to fix that! lol

Yer killin' me, Smalls...... lol You have some very nice 22's there!

I had a nice Browning .17HMR Sporter T-Bolt that I gave to my youngest brother when he moved to Arizona 12 years ago. He just sent me a pic of it the other day and it still looks like new.

That’s some great shooting! Appreciate you sharing the pic. It definitely showcases what that setup is capable of. MeOpta really does exceed expectations and it sounds like you’re getting just what you need from it. For the price, they’re tough to beat especially with such clear glass and turrets that track properly. That KIDD/KRG combo paired with the MeOpta seems like a fantastic build. You’ve obviously put a lot of thought into it and the results speak volumes. Which ammo has worked best for you out of what you’ve tested?

Thank you!

The different brands of 'Target Grade' ammo that I've shot out of it; Different flavors of Eley, Wolf, SK, Federal, mostly, have all shot very well. Even different types of CCI. The most consistent is a toss-up between the SK Rifle Match and the SK Semi Auto. They've been more consistent than even Eley Tenex.

Now as soon as this winter weather breaks, I just have to try out my recently acquired Caldwell Precision Turret Rest and see how well it does compared to my current bench set-up. (y)
