Coyote Hunting

It should have always been like that. Some public land I hunt for deer has way too many coyotes running around. Year-round season just makes sense to help keep the numbers in check.

What area are you seeing these coyotes in. I agree season should always be year around but in my area deer population is insane. I primarily night hunt and will see 200-300 deer in a 25 mile radius to 1 coyote. That’s just driving backroads scanning with thermals. I think Michigan needs to hand out 3 doe tags per deer license purchase in certain high pop counties.

That would be the common sense approach, unfortunately, when it comes to the dnr in Michigan, there is no common sense.

You got that right, Mark M.! Michigan DNR has to be the worse in the nation when it comes to controlling/managing game/predator population throughout the state. When I'm out hunting and a coyote happens by, I will shoot it without thinking twice about it. Period. Well, that is unless I have a 160" buck in front of me..... 😁
