Handed down a Browning BAR 270 to my grand daughter. In my early 60s and figured I'm going to start handing down some of my dozens of firearms to younger family so they can hunt with and enjoy them way before I pass. I think it's the right decision. I can watch them use and harvest game while enjoying them. I've built a number of rifles that I'll keep till the end and they can find their way to family at that time. She shot the 270 yesterday and I re-zeroed it for her. It was zeroed in for me and how I shoot. She'll do well with it and plans on heading out soon for some crop damage harvesting. While out there she wanted to shoot my Glock pistol so I gave her some instruction and she did well. Still only 17 years old, it's a good time to get her honed up on personal defense. I'm sure many of your kids or grand kids are chomping at the big to get the guns checked for zero as the early doe season approaches.

There’s something truly special about watching your family enjoy the firearms you’ve treasured over the years. That’s the kind of legacy that most people just dream about, but you’re actually living it. I think more people should take a page from your book, hand down those passions while you can still see them thrive.
