Even though summer feels like a lull before the storm, I try to take advantage of it by organizing my gear and keeping an eye on my trail cameras. I like to think I'm getting fit and maybe scouting a bit, but honestly, I always feel like I could be doing more in the off-season.

New guy here... Starting to think about archery season myself. I started saddle hunting last year, and a bit late in the season at that, so I'm still a real newb to that method of climbing. If the weather ever cools off a bit I want to get back out in the woods nearby and do some practice climbs again to re-orient to climbing that way.

I'm also looking for a public range to punch holes in paper with the flintlock and rifles. I used to be a member at a club, but dang it if the clubs don't clog up the ranges Every Single Weekend with events... so much that it's darn near impossible to actually just go use the ranges as a member. That, plus it seems that outdoorsmen are few and far between now at the clubs, and most of the guys are all about tactical and ARs. Been there... not my jam anymore.
