I've been on a bit of a hot sauce journey lately and I've found myself really enjoying the flavor of some new ones. Lately, I've been captivated by the heat and depth of the Chipotle version from Tabasco — it's smoky, gives just the right kick, and seems to find its way onto just about everything I eat.

This got me curious — what's that everyday hot sauce that you always have on hand? You know, the one that's not for the fancy dishes or the super hot challenges, but rather the trusty bottle that complements your meals without demanding the spotlight?

Do you reach for classics like Texas Pete or Cholula, or is there something else I should be trying? I'm after something that brings flavor but doesn't set my mouth on fire.

What's your go-to, and what do you like to put it on?

Not so much hot sauce, but I love salsa..some of it on the hotter side.
Best I've had is..homemade. Used to garden with a friend that was a master gardener. We grew Heritage Brandywine tomatoes,
one of the best tasting tomatoes, IMO . Wife used them + home grown jalapenos, to make unbelievably good tasting salsa.
Unfortunately friend passed, & we lost a good friend that had great gardening soil for growing..anything.

Herdez salsas, made in Mexico but sold almost everywhere , is possibly the best tasting brand we've tried & is our go-to for store bought.
They might have a hotter sauce for you to try, if you haven't already.

Crispy hot oil. Gotta go to an Asian store for it, but it's pretty tasty as sauce or cooking ingredient.
