What kind of coating are you looking for?

Between Cerakote and nitriding, which one really holds up under heavy use after firing thousands of rounds?

For pistols that get used a lot, I'm a fan of nitriding. Slides and barrels that are treated this way just hold up. Cerakote looks cool for a few of my guns that don't get used a lot but on my often-used pistols, it wears off fast.

I second Reese's comment. For a lot of shooting, nitride is the much better choice.

Nitriding holds up better under hard use, Cerakote wins for looks and corrosion protection over time.
